2009-08-31 JFG: Called Julie Ain at The Guidance Center about starting Uma with their Preschool Team. She wasn't in so I left a message and asked her to call back.
Uma started her new school today. Smita's noon report: She is happy to be there and had a lot of fun playing in the loft but preferred that to joining the other kids for group activities like stories. She sat with the other kids at snack time and ate carrot sticks and apples. At 11:15 Smita told Uma she'd be back for lunchtime and she left. Uma cried her darndest, but one of the teachers comforted her, and when Smita returned, Uma was sitting nicely with the other kids eating lunch. After lunch they came home. Uma didn't nap at home. At home she remembered her teachers' names (repeating what Smita had said, “Count to ten and then we'll say bye-bye to Mindy and Jeannie”).
